A lot of Dutch people started their morning today with TED. Major Dutch newspaper nrc.next wrote a feature article on the event.
This is a how a lot of coffee tables in Holland must have looked this morning.

Wanted: the best ideas in the world.
Finally. Next month, for the first time there is a TEDx-event in The Netherlands. Uhm, TED?
In the two page spread on TED, TEDxAmsterdam organiser Jim Stolze explains what TED is, and why TED-fans start their day with a TED Talk to begin inspired.
TED Talks are 18 minute long lectures on ‘ideas worth spreading’. Next month, for the first time, there will be a TEDx-event in the Netherlands. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together
to share a TED-like experience. It’s buzzing. We’re betting this is going to happen: very soon, you’ll be standing in a bar, and somebody will start talking about the fabulous talk by writer/philosopher Alain de Botton on TED.com, or the one by Jared Diamond, or the one by Bill Gates. And before you know it, everybody will be listing his favorite TED Talk. Something similar is going to happen at a dinner: between two meals, the host will put his laptop on the table. “You gotta see this”, he’ll say. Dave Eggers about public education, “it’s awesome!”. What follows is that the guests will watch an 18-minute TED Talk by the American writer.
The newspaper continues by telling how it’s readers can win tickets to TEDxAmsterdam. We’ll post more information on this special challenge later today. If you want to know right now, we suggest you run to your newsstand.
