TEDx around the world on Twitter

All around the world TEDx events are taking place, and Twitter provides an easy way to follow the ideas worth spreading by all local TEDx organisers.

TED.com describes a typical TEDx event as follows:

In the spirit of “Ideas Worth Spreading,” TEDx is a program that enables schools, businesses, libraries or just groups of friends to enjoy a TED-like experience through events they themselves organize, design and host. We’re supporting approved organizers by offering a free toolset that includes detailed advice, the right to use recorded TEDTalks, promotion on our site, connection to other organizers, and a little piece of our brand in the form of the TEDx label.

Most TEDx events are quite modest: a small group of people that view some TED Talks on TED.com together on a big screen. Often followed by some serious discussion and lots of room for afterthought. The approach of TEDxAmsterdam is a little different: we’re going to get 500 interesting people together next month, and see original TEDxAmsterdam Talks.

TEDx big or small… the rising number of TEDx events is inspiring, and their organisers have plenty of interesting links to share of things to say. Using the new list-functionality on Twitter, it’s easy to follow them all.
