TED is about ideas worth spreading. And so is Public Relations. That’s exactly why Gervaise
Coebergh, founder of Coebergh PR didn’t hesitate when we asked her to team up with us this year.
When meeting Gervaise for a cup of tea in the conference room of her office in Amsterdam’s Leidsegracht, she explains why TEDxAmsterdam and Coebergh PR complement each other: “As a Communications agency, we strive to connect with people and companies.” The essence of PR is to make people talk about a certain subject.
According to Gervaise, TED is a means to guarantee that “ideas worth spreading” reach their audience. “That’s where our missions correspond”. Coebergh PR will guarantee all ideas expressed at TEDxAmsterdam are supported by a fitting media-context, which does justice to those ideas. After TEDx, they aim to maximize the inspirational resonance of those ideas in the media. Coebergh PR also manages the general press trajectory, and subsequently aims for reaching those people who are, till date, unfamiliar with the TEDx phenomenon.
Gervaise intuitively felt the connection with TEDxAmsterdam. She expressed that “all people contributing to the realization of TEDxAmsterdam form a wonderful group of committed individuals. It’s a delight cooperating with such an engaged team.” When looking ahead, Gervaise sees that TED is continuously and rapidly evolving, moving from ideas worth spreading towards ideas worth doing. And that’s what really makes her tick, being in charge of a goal-oriented organization. “Maybe even more than spreading, we believe in a successful realization of ideas.”
