Your Favorite TEDtalk?
Dan Pink. Despite the global banking crisis, top salaries and bonuses are still extravagantly high; no one seems to have learned a lesson. I agree with Dan Pink that at top level, bonuses are not the answer to motivation. We need to move away from corporate greed and create a business environment whereby we are motivated not by money, but by the work itself.

What would you speak about during your 3 minute TEDx Talk?
About globalization. In past decades, the market place has moved from buying whatever is available in the local corner store to the availability of sexy global brands. In the coming decades, the shift in the market place will once again be enormous. Asian brands, now often inferior, will reach a level of sophistication that will seriously compete in the global market place. To survive the 21st century, companies have to move global in order to 1) create global revenue streams and therefore be less impacted by regional economic downturns 2) understand global business and therefore prepare for the arrival of global players in the home market and 3) learn the best global business practices: there is so much to be learnt and gained from other cultures. Yet in their efforts to move global, many businesses fail; often due common mistakes. Having lived in Asia Pacific for 13 years, where I set up many businesses and business units, I would share my experience, explain the commonly made mistakes and provide a roadmap on how to successfully set up a business internationally.
