Dear TEDxAmsterdam fans,
We wish to advise that there are currently no more tickets available to this year’s event at the Amsterdam Stadsschouwburg on the 30th November.
We have been overwhelmed with demand for tickets again this year, and again it’s been an incredibly difficult task to choose the right mix of people and backgrounds to make the ideas that appear on stage not just worth spreading, but actually become reality.
We’re sorry to disappoint you if you haven’t received an invitation yet. Even so, we still encourage you to register on our website to receive updates and news on the program and other activities like TEDxChange and TEDxYouth, both of which have been initiated by the TEDxAmsterdam team.
But it’s not all bad – a number of our friends and partners are offering tickets through competitions. If you’re a student, you can enter the Folia.nl competition. If you’re on Hyves, we’re offering tickets to 25×2 lucky winners. Boomerang Create has a competition, as does ZAM Magazine, and the lovely people at The New Motion have a competition through their Facebook page. And finally, there’s the just-announced TEDxAmsterdam Award. Which one will you enter?!
As an alternative to a seat in the Stadsschouwburg, or entering a competition and letting fate decide, we encourage you to attend via one of our simulcast locations. Last year these were incredibly popular and more than 30 locations hosted a TEDxAmsterdam Simulcast Event. You can find locations for this year’s simulcasts here. If you don’t see a location near you, or if you would like to organize or host a simulcast yourself, please contact Albert-Jan Tebbe [albert-jan@tedxamsterdam.nl]. Simulcasts have been made possible with the assistance of our partners Feller Media, Hoens Facilities, NOS and Surfnet.
With all this talk of you getting to our event, how about helping someone else get there too? This is a worthwhile cause: Africaunsigned.com are appealing to everybody to help get one of three artists to Amsterdam this year to perform. You can donate to the artist whose music you like the most, and the artist who raises the most money will attend.
Best regards,
Freek Bodemeijer
