TEDxAmsterdam brings together more than 20 wonderful speakers, a delightful audience and a great venue – it is also a magnet for special gatherings around town and beyond. Where networks collide, people meet, ideas are shared and things are getting done.
On the same day as our event – the 30th November – a satellite show called ‘TEDxAmsterdam PLUGGED-IN,’ will run on Leidseplein. PLUGGED-IN will present the newest electric cars, and in Boom Chicago an audience will not only enjoy the TEDxAmsterdam PLUGGED-IN program, but will also be able to follow TEDxAmsterdam from Stadsschouwburg via livestream. TEDxAmsterdam PLUGGED-IN brings together innovation, electric driving and TED.
At ‘TEDxAmsterdam PLUGGED-IN’ another 250 TED fans can follow the TEDx Amsterdam program via live stream. The PLUGGED-IN program will begin at 08:30 with a breakfast session and will continue until 19:00 with the witty moderation of the Boom Chicago gang. Extra guest speakers will include entrepreneur Ruud Koornstra of Tendris, who has been driving an electric car for 4 years; blogger and trendsetter NALDEN who has recently started driving a Tesla Roadster; former F1 driver Jan Lammers who is working on an electric racing series and Maarten Linnenkamp, program manager electric mobility in Amsterdam.
Electric Pit Stop on Leidseplein
Make sure you stop off at the pit stop on Leidseplain for a test drive in an electric car. The newest models such as the Citroen C-Zero, the Peugeot iOn and the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, which will be available on the Dutch market in 2011, will be there to try out! There will also be Tesla Roadsters and electric scooters to experience.
How can you be a part of TEDx Electric?
PLUGGED-IN has been developed with the assistance of The New Motion, an organization that is about electric mobility powered by renewable energy. Solar energized electric cars is something that inspires them, and they would like to know what inspires the rest of The Netherlands. The New Motion is giving away tickets to TEDxAmsterdam PLUGGED-IN to people who would like to share their moments of inspiration.
