Simulcast events – satellites around TEDxAmsterdam
A simulcast event starts with watching a livestream of TEDxAmsterdam and, if the organizer wants to, an extra local program with speakers, mini TEDxTalks and performing artists. Say goodbye to staring at your iPhone screen all by yourself and enjoy a crowd of like-minded TEDsters watching the HD quality livestream. Just like a satellite, simulcast events are related to TEDxAmsterdam but have a large degree of freedom to create a local experience. Simulcast events can differ in size as well: from a group of office workers in the restaurant to 800 people in a historical cinema – and anything in between.

Year after year, we are blown away by the enthusiasm and quality of the simulcast event organizers. That’s why this year we will try even harder to help those creative organizers establish an unforgettable simulcast event for their local attendees. What’s in store? To support you, we can share our list of some 300 suggested speakers with you – in Amsterdam there will be room for only 20 speakers on stage. Skyscraping simulcast event at 150 meters
Deloitte had an amazing simulcast event in 2010 on the highest location in the Netherlands! No binoculars were needed to see what the speakers on stage in Amsterdam were doing. Some might say the attendees in the Rotterdam Maastower had a better time than we did at the Leidseplein… See for yourself in this video report.
Where will you be?
It’s great fun to experience the TED energy in a room filled with like-minded, yet different, people. TEDxAmsterdam is truly on its way becoming a national event and we already have several simulcast event locations in very special places. To attend one of the simulcast events you will need to update or register your TEDxAmsterdam profile and let us know where you want to watch the livestream. Later on, we can match organizers with attendees.
