Having a mind blowing idea, something that is truly new and original, and absolutely world changing… simply is not enough.
I am no advocate of statistics per se, but let me quote someone who manages to make my point quite eloquently:
Doing anything worthwhile takes forever. 90% of what separates successful people and failed people is time, effort, and stamina.
(A worthwhile read, if you haven’t yet: Hugh MacLeod’s manifesto ‘How to be creative’)
And so, team FairTransport is putting in the hours/days/weeks/months on their inherently successful idea Ecoliner. Several business meetings have passed already, hosted at Deloitte, where experienced advisors help our passionate team to transform their idea into a viable business. Quite a change in lingo, from starboard and foresail, to stakeholders and investment-brief. But our sailors are determined to make it work, and add the skills of businessmen to their talents.
Making the Ecoliner a profitable business is an essential step: the team needs investors and a solid business plan to get their idea afloat. An 8000 tons hybrid cargo sailing ship needs to be designed, built and operated; a complex and costly operation!
The Ecoliner is no hobby project, it isn’t a costly fairy tale. It truly is a solid investment! The ship is faster than regular cargo ships and uses far less fuel, making it a very competitive business for the transport industry. And of course, the environment is a tremendous winner in this deal. A trait that consumers around the world are more and more adamant about.
So what can you do, to help the business of the Ecoliner?
Demand CO2 free transport of anything and anything you buy! At the end of the chain, it’s you – the consumers – who are pulling the strings. Pull them in the right direction, and help change the world for the better.
