Who is Lissa Zeviar?
In 2005, Lissa Zeviar was the first to establish a Baby Signs company in The Netherlands; Babygebaren – a company that teaches parents and professionals that they can communicate with all children through sign language before they can talk. Lissa Zeviar is also the author of “Babygebaren-Gebaren met je kind voor hij kan praten”, Holland’s first baby signing course and activity book.
Why should you listen to her?
Born to deaf parents, Lissa feels she has been given a great gift in Sign Language. Lissa’s belief is that if everyone was raised with sign language as a second language- we could all enjoy the gems that knowing sign language has to offer. Lissa has dedicated her life to bringing the hearing and deaf communities closer together through. One way is by having the hearing community experience the benefits of knowing sign language. At the same time, the more exposure the hearing community has to the deaf community, the easier it will be for the deaf community to advance in our society.
