Who is Levi van Veluw?

Levi van Veluw is an award-winning, multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in the Netherlands. Perhaps, you have recently encountered his work featured in the pages of Wired Magazine. His work consists of photography, installations and video works. Since having graduated from the Artez Art School in Arnhem the Netherlands, van Veluw has enjoyed a remarkable amount of success in a short period of time. His work has been showcased in several different locations across Europe and the United States including the recent exhibitions “Dead or Alive” at the American Museum of Arts and Design (2010, NYC) and at the Armory Show (2011, NYC). He has earned a number of prestigious awards including the Photographer of the Year by the International Photo Awards, USA.

Why should you listen to him?
Artist Levi van Veluw’s series ‘Origin of the Beginning’ consists of photographs, installations and videos in which he draws from his own childhood memories to thematically and narratively develop his own brand of self-portraiture. His work is beautiful, intriguing and consoling – and will be shown at various moments during the day.
