TEDxAmsterdam’s book on Human Nature

In for a nice read, getting ready for TEDxAmsterdam in two weeks? Then we have something for you. Last year we had a book published on human nature. It’s title: Het begint met een idee (sorry guys, Dutch only).

The book is a anthology of TED’s best talks about the human brain, creativity, passion, ingenuity, and innovation. The book introduces you to the theories of Sir Ken Robinson, Seth Godin, Daniel Dennett, Steven Pinker, V.S. Ramachandran, Matt Ridley, Steven Johnson, Tim Berners Lee, Daniel Pink, Malcolm Gladwell, Charles Leadbeater, Barry Schwartz and of course TED’s own Chris Anderson.

Crowd accelerated innovation

Their collective talks, shared on the stages of TED events worldwide, tell the story of how the sharing of ideas will lead to innovation. The book is full of insights in human nature and has funny anecdotes of how great inventions came about. It even gives you a peek into the future, stating that the sharing of ideas through online and social media will lead to a great leap in crowd accelerated innovation.

And then there was TED

The book, written by Carolien Vader – one of our volunteers, is also about TED as a phenomenon. From the founding days back in 1984 to the extension of the TED brand worldwide through locally organised events such as our own TEDxAmsterdam.
