How did we get here?
As you can imagine, it’s quite a challenge getting all our speakers, delegates and team members from their hotels and homes to the conference venue, and from there to the restaurants, the after party and then back to their beds! Or is it? Well, for most of us it is not hard at all, we just take our biycles, the transport of choice for anyone in this city. But that still leaves a large group of people that needs transport to get around from one place to another. And as TEDxAmsterdam loves to partner with new and innovative companies – we are delighted to have three great partners helping us out with all the transport tasks… Not the same as it ever was!
Toogethr – Share a ride
Toogethr is a Dutch start up that offers online and mobile rideshare service that lets optimally use your social networks. This allows you to quickly, flexibly and economically share rides, with friends, colleagues, friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends…. Where and when it suits you. Hopper – Hop on a scooter
Hopper is the new way for commuters and Amsterdam residents to get around the city, within the confines of the Ring A10. HOPPER offers chauffeur-driven electric scooters, at a fixed rate of € 2.50 per ride. The project is a private-public cooperation with the City of Amsterdam, NS and the Ministry of Infrastructure & Environment and helps solve metropolitan transportation problems. Uber – Your on demand private driver
The Silicon Valley start-up Uber has arrived in Amsterdam and will supply all TEDxAmsterdam Speakers with luxurious rides around town, and has a special deal coming up for all delegates… After jazzing up the transport markets in i.a. San Francisco, New York, London, Paris and Sydney, Uber’s now rolling out their undercover fleet exclusively for TEDxAmsterdam. The concept is super simple: you open the app on your iPhone/Android/Blackberry and order a Mercedes, BMW or Audi with private driver to pick you up and drop you off wherever you want. Simple, smooth and safe. If you book a car with TEDxAmsterdam for the first ride you get a 10 euro discount!
