Today we launch the second in our TEDxAmsterdam Challenges videos.

TEDxAmsterdam Challenges

If you missed the first, check it out here. Shot and produced here in Amsterdam, this video is a poetic interpretation of people’s ideas and what they do with them. The message is: “Brighten up your life, love your Ideas”. Many times, as you know, we abandon our good ideas, let them go, or quite often, don’t have the time or resources to make them happen. Well, this short film encourages you to do exactly the opposite – and doing so could help you win a ticket to this year’s TEDxAmsterdam. We’ve received a lot of interest in ‘ideas worth doing’ and the TEDxChallenges competition since we launched last month, and the entries are steadily trickling in.”

The joy of experiencing TED together

Last week a group of TED-fans gathered in BoomChicago, a comedy club in Amsterdam. They spent hours in the dark, sitting on chairs -breathless, or lying in fatboys looking at a huge screen. What was going on? TEDxLive! It’s a new TED format where people all over the world can watch a live conference feed together.

During TEDxAmsterdamLIVE those TED-fans enjoyed the live stream coming from the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford and co-created an unforgettable event themselves. A wonderful group of volunteers made this possible.

It was thanks to the effort of Saskia Kok, Nephtalie Demei, Martin Voorzanger, Antoinette Hoes, Maarten Wolvekamp, Saskia Maas, Jane Tjon Tjauw Liem, Gabrielle de Nijs Bik and Claudio Encina that we had such a great time…and such a lovely program!

For four days next week, Amsterdam comedy club Boom Chicago proudly invites TED enthusiasts for a live streaming of TEDGlobal 2010 in Oxford, England. TEDx Amsterdam Live
Last year was the first TEDx event in Amsterdam, the x meaning a local, self-organized event supported by TED. It created a buzz that now brings a group of TED Addicts together to organize a four day live streaming event of TEDGlobal 2010 this July. The organization of TEDx Amsterdam Live includes Jim Stolze, founder of TEDx Amsterdam and Boom Chicago co-owner, Saskia Maas.

Tuesday, July 13
14:00-18:30: Kick off event, featuring guest speakers, music and TEDGlobal 2010 (Oxford) streamed live. Host is Boom Chicago co-owner, artistic director and comedian Jon Rosenfeld. Special performances by singer Noam Vazana and composer Merlijn Twaalfhoven.

Wednesday, July 14

8:45-18:30: All day TEDGlobal 2010 (Oxford) streamed live combined with special live speakers. On Wednesday the host of the day is TEDx Amsterdam founder, author of How to survive your Inbox, and public speaker Jim Stolze. Special performances by Pim Betist (Africa Unsigned), DJake en Michiel Drijber (Iedereen elke dag plezier).

Thursday, July 15
8:45-18:30: All day TEDGlobal 2010 (Oxford) streamed live combined with special live speakers. On Thursday the day will be hosted by poet, singer and performer Arjan Amin. Special performances by Jasper van Immelen (Inner Superhero), singer Leslie Ebony and Roderik van Grieken (Debatacademie). And TEDxAmsterdam Program Director Monique van Dusseldorp will present some first information on the plans for TEDxAmsterdam on 30 November!

Friday July 16

8:45-14:00: TEDGlobal 2010 (Oxford) streamed live

14:00-18:30: Closing event The Best of TED, where we will show the most inspiring TED talks from the past as selected by the audience.
