Do something small to get great ideas done.

This year the TEDxAmsterdam organization initiated the TEDxAmsterdam Challenge initiative. Many great ideas have been submitted and more are expected. One of these ‘ideas worth doing’ will win the TEDxAmsterdam Award.

To help make this award even better, we ask you to make a donation, no matter how small – because small things can make big things happen. In the spirit of TED we’d like you to be creative in how you raise the money, so sell your old bicycle or collect old papers, ask your colleagues to give or get your company to donate, make music or perform. Do what you do best and donate your efforts to making great things possible. Submit your donation by clicking on the donate button and filling in the form. The 3 most creative donations will win a ticket to TEDxAmsterdam on November 30th in the Stadsschouwburg.

The selection committee will select the best 3 projects, and winners will be invited to TEDxAmsterdam. The person winning this award will be invited next year to give a talk about the results.

We ask you to keep in mind the following things we’ll be looking for. The project should:

- Inspire people

- Have a significant positive impact on the lives of people or the planet

- The Award money should transform an idea into reality or significantly accelerate the expansion of the idea.

    The Maatschappij voor volksgeluk (MAVV) , roughly translated as ‘the society for the happiness of the people’ was formed beginning of 2010 hoping to add a bit of excitement. With the perspective that depression is believed to become numbers one’s common disease its time for a change.

    We think beyond bounderies and organize events of all kinds in all sorts of empty interesting spaces. we recently organized a film festival in an abandoned train station and this fall we’re staging a design- and art festival in an old warehouse, and off course we love to throw parties in empty houses.

    MAVV’s mission is to create experiences that make people happy. That can be anything ranging from events to parties and even guided tours. We use our creativity as entrepreneurs and believe that sustainable urban development has to come from this. We love whats happening in Detroit and Berlin at the moment. We like to think big and hope for the future to run a warehouse where everyhting we do comes together
