Tickets
The 2010 edition of TEDxAmsterdam will take place on 30 november at the Stadsschouwburg in Amsterdam.
TEDxAmsterdam is ‘invite only,’ a decision we’ve taken for a number of reasons:
a) we believe that TEDxAmsterdam is so much more than just a conference; we actually want the ideas presented on stage to become reality as much as possible, so we are looking at creating the right environment for that to happen.
b) when selecting our audience, we’re looking at a specific kind of diversity – people from different sectors – who, when pooled together, represent the right synergy and potential for ideas to really germinate.
c) we’re also looking for real innovators; people with a track record of taking bold ideas to fruition.
We definitely don’t want TEDxAmsterdam to be an elitist event; and we do want to make it accessible to as many people as possible. So on that note, we’re not only creating novel ways for people to get a ticket (such as the TEDxAmsterdam Challenges), but we’re also working on a simulcast project so everybody who is unable to be part of the Stadsschouwburg audience can still be part of the magic.
How can I be considered for the list?
Work on the invitation list is an ongoing process. If you’re interested in attending, you can create a profile on our website to express interest.
As with last year, we’re aiming for as diverse an audience as possible in terms of age, gender, education, professional achievements, and so on. We will start this process from scratch, which means that if you attended in 2009, you won’t automatically be invited again this year. However, if you were, we encourage you to log in update your profile in order to be considered again.
Please make sure to complete your application as soon as possible! From 1 September on we’ll be inviting 50 people every 2 weeks to attend TEDxAmsterdam 2010.
TEDxAmsterdam Challenges
In July this year we launched a special competition offering 100 tickets to attend the event. Based around the concept of ‘ideas worth doing,’ it asks entrants to list an idea or project which serves their local community, city, country or for the world, or to nominate someone they know who has done this. Find out more and enter here.
TEDxAmsterdam Live Stream Simulcasts
Again this year we will host a number of live simulcasts at locations around the country for those who are interested in experiencing TEDxAmsterdam ‘live.’ More information about locations and the possibility of hosting your own simulcast event can be found here.
Ticketing FAQ
How can I get a ticket?
Tickets to TEDxAmsterdam are invitation only. We’re interested in bringing together as diverse an audience as possible, as we really want as many of the ideas as possible to come to fruition. Therefore we’re selecting a range of people who can help make this a reality.
I went last year, will I get invited this year?
Not automatically. We’re starting the invitation list from scratch, and you can update your profile on the www.tedxamsterdam.com website in order to be considered for invitation again this year.
I think I’ve got what it takes to be in the audience. How can I be considered for the invitation list?
We invite you to create a profile on our website, listing out your details and then providing a 140 character summary on why you think you should attend. We’ll then consider all profiles created and come up with a short list. Note: profiles need to be created before 1 September 2010.
I’ve received contact asking me to ‘confirm my seat.’ Does this mean that I’m coming?
If you receive an email asking you to confirm your seat, then you’re invited and can come. However, you need to confirm your seat before the due date mentioned in the email.
If I miss out on a ticket, how else can I watch the event?
There will be various simulcast locations throughout the country. If you want to organize a simulcast yourself, then please contact us.
I went to a simulcast last year; how can I go and will they be at the same locations?
Some will be in the same location some not. Please check our simulcast page prior to the event for more details.
